He was visibly stunned that Maedhros knew that and he went very still. Then...

"Yes." Aragorn had been angry and hurt and upset beyond words. He loved his Ada, his brothers, his uncles... He loved Imladris. It was like Elrond was taking that away from him or making it less important.

"I do not think Men are worth less than Elves." he frowned stubbornly on that point, "And...I am related to...Lord Elrond and his sons. It's...very distant."

Distant yet important to Elrond especially. He had spent long hours reassuring him when he felt his anger and pain for the first time.
